Our brain is designed to be reactive rather than reasoned, and make quick generalizations.   Biased policing and skewed perceptions threaten the relationship between police agencies and the communities that they serve.  This training is for sworn officers and addresses cultural changes in the U.S. population and the necessity to protect an agency from citizen complaints, exposure to claims and litigation, and fractured police–community relations. We discuss unconscious biases, prejudices, empathy, and effective communication.
